For the office, I want custom branded Ez Mart office stationary to be displayed throughout. This is because Valerie loves her supermarket, and I want the shop to be fully branded and kitted out, so having their own merchandise definitely helps with this goal.
These will be scattered around the desk in the scene where they review the security footage. I feel having these props will make the supermarket feel real. My goal is to make this set feel like it could exist in the real world.
Here are some of the concepts I had for the Plain Jane doll logo. As stated before, I wanted to leave clues in the set dressing alluding to the fact that Jane is the killer.
This is the final logo I went with. I wanted it to be simple so it wouldn’t be too distracting when displayed on the shop floor, but still be noticeable. I also feel this looks more professional. The logo comes in grey and pink. The “Fame Edition” is to hint at Jane’s motive in the script as to why she has committed the murders – she wants to become famous and use this as a platform to do so.
This is the poster I have designed to be placed in the supermarket. I want it to be advertised in the shop, again, to hint that Jane is the killer and also make the set feel more realistic, shops do advertise products in their shops so this is why I have done this. The doll also looks like Jane.
Here is a quick checklist of props I needed to bring to the set, and the costumes. Part of the script breakdown
